NCPD Police Officer Gary Farley died on March 7, 1993 after a line of duty altercation with a violent mental aided. The tragedy of his death was felt throughout the Department. To ensure that he is remembered, members of the Nassau Police Running Club sponsor an annual 5-K Memorial Run in his name. The P.O. Gary Farley Memorial 5-K Run is now in its 17th proud year. Officer Farley’s name and sacrifice are now known by thousands who may never have learned of his heroics if the Run was not created. We feel this is a fitting tribute to the man as we knew him and thank you for your participation.
